Day 722

Finally the first week of recovery is coming to an end.  Got a glowing report from the doctor and I'm good to go.  That is starting the real recovery.  I can go for walks for the next few weeks and then I can go back to the gym and walk on the treadmill and lift 10lb weights.  Also some body weight exercises are fine.
I'll take it slow and steady until the sixth week, which is when I can start ramping up to get back to my previous workouts.  That'll take another month or so.

Breakfast: Oatmeal, blue berries, and banana.  20oz of cold water.

Lunch (or second breakfast): Two pancakes.  I took a friend (my driver this last week) to "lunch" but it was still early enough that we ended up eating breakfast.  I ended up getting a couple of pancakes and a scramble.  The pancakes were more than enough so took the scramble home in a doggy bag.

Dinner: Went to friends for a BBQ and we had hamburgers and hot dogs (actually brats).  There was also a broccoli salad and baked beans.  I also broke my fast and had a soda.

So after the doctor visit I went for a walk as the weather was awesome (figures it's the last day of my vacation).  I walked for 30min and I'll keep that up for the next few times and then up the time some until I get to the three week time.  Then I can go back to the gym and continue my cardio workouts as I build up to the final week of my recovery.  For now though just happy to get this behind me and start moving forward.

Day 721

It's the start of the new week and two days left of vacation.  Tomorrow morning I'll visit the doctor for the follow up on my surgery and it should go just fine.
I got up a bit earlier than I have the last few days but other than trying to sleep on my side, everything is pretty much the same.

Breakfast: Oatmeal with blue berries and Greek yogurt.  Drank my 20oz of cold water for the first time in a week.

Lunch: Went to lunch with a friend ( cabin fever finally took over).  I didn't drive but we went for Philly cheese steaks.  I had a 6" with mushrooms and an order of garlic fries.  It was quite good.  I didn't eat all of the fries so brought them home to eat later.

Dinner: Made a mixture of ground turkey, the garlic fries from lunch and broccoli, then put it all into two burrito shells.  Quite delicious.

Fingers crossed for a good report tomorrow.  I'd really like to be able to drive again.

Monday, April 28, 2014

Day 720

Feeling more of that cabin fever.  Gotta remember that I'm following doctor's orders and no driving.  No matter what.  Wow this is almost as hard as convincing myself that eating better is good for me.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and blue berries.

Lunch: Decided to make some burritos with ground turkey.  Don't have a lot of ingredients but was able to dig through the cupboards and come up with some spices.  Turned out pretty good.  I added some black beans to the turkey to make it more filling.  So made some scrambled eggs and turned it all into burritos.

Late afternoon: Smoothies again.  I'm really liking my blender.

Dinner: An old standby, pot sticker soup.  This time I stir fried broccoli and mixed that into the soup with sausage (1).  It did satisfy me to a point but for now it will do.

Late night snack: Blue berries mixed with some Greek yogurt.

So I did go for a longer walk today but not that much longer.  I really wanted to feel my body and see if it was going to act up or go with it.  I'm happy to say that it was a normal walk and nothing bad happened when I got back.  I think I'm healing quite nicely and I hope the doctor agrees on Tues.  Now I just have to wait it out for a couple of weeks before I can get back to the workouts.

Day 719

So it's now been four days since the surgery and I'm feeling quite good.  It seems though that I might need to drink LOTS of prune juice as things are stagnant.  We'll see how it goes later in the day.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and blue berries with...wait for it...prune juice.

Lunch: Pot sticker soup mixed with corn and quinoa.  The quinoa had broccoli, cauliflower, and sausage added to make it more filling.  Some more prune juice.

OKAY, I can stop drinking the prune juice (in the quantity I was previously).  Everything seems to be back to normal.  Yay!

Dinner: Sweet potato fries and pot stickers.  The last of the quinoa.

So after the prune juice kicked in I went for a walk.  Still not walking too far but I needed to do that instead of continuing the vigil in front of the computer.

I'm feeling a bit of cabin fever due to not being able to drive until Tues.  I may have to call someone to take me somewhere, any where.  Ah well tomorrow is another day and I still have a couple more days of vacation to go.

Sunday, April 27, 2014

Day 718(Post surgery day three)

So I'm feeling much better this morning.  At this point I'm going to hold off on the pain pill as I really don't feel much pain.  I was going to go out and hang with a friend but decided to stay in and keep the current schedule of sitting with some walking around the condo.
I did walk up to the mailbox and picked up my mail for some extra exercise.  I'll probably do some walking around outside a bit later in the day also.

Breakfast: So made a breakfast burrito.  Three eggs, some bacon, the rest of the quinoa, some tomato, and salsa.

Late afternoon snack: Smoothie.  Again putting that blender to good use.

Dinner: More quinoa this time mixed with sausage, broccoli, and cauliflower.

So I didn't go for another walk.  I did feel better during the day but still felt like I should be going very easy.  I didn't feel the need for a pain pill at all and I expect that will continue tomorrow.  I am a bit concerned due to not having had a, hmm how do I put this diplomatically?  Let's just say I've been drinking prune juice to help stay regular.  Not too concerned yet but we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Friday, April 25, 2014

Day 717 (Post surgery day two)

In a bit of pain today so once I eat something I'll take a pain pill.  It's manageable pain just over the threshold of annoying so the pain pill will help a lot.

Breakfast: Three eggs and some of the quinoa from last night.

During the day I made a smoothie.  Finally broke out the blender I bought a couple of years ago to make smoothies.  I got three glasses out it but not sure how healthy that was.  I made it with one of the protein drinks and orange juice along with some strawberries, blueberries, and a banana.  Also threw in some plain Greek yogurt.  I will say it tasted great.

Dinner:  Hamburger on a ciabata bun with an egg and guacamole with some tomato.

So I did end up taking two pain pills today.  I took the one in the morning.  I noticed when getting out of bed in the morning that the pain was definitely there.  I then felt like it was coming back in the later evening so I did take another one so that I'd be able to sleep in comfort.  I figured it might be an issue.

So tomorrow we'll see how it went and if I need another one at that time.  I'm hoping not, but.......

Day 716 (Surgery day one)

My day started at 5am.  Went through the pre-surgery stuff, mostly talking as it turns out.  Then after a couple of hours of that it was time.  They took me in this really white room with lots of interesting machinery standing around and two or three nurses.  The knock-out guy starts giving me something and I respond that it's starting to get fuzzy and then they are talking to me saying everything went great.  I'm like WHAT it's over?  Sure enough it was an hour and a half later and I have no recollection of that time or what happened.  Weird and cool.

So went home later in the morning and then I could eat.

I had a ham sandwich with a small amount of potato salad (probably a couple of tablespoons worth).  I wanted to be careful and not over do it since I hadn't eaten other than the hamburger the night before for about 60hrs.

Later in the day I had an apple.  I also made a smoothie with mango and banana.

Dinner: Pot stickers and quinoa with sausage.

I'm not in a lot of pain ( took a pain pill during the day) but we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Day 715 or How I learned to love Gatorade

So started the day out with drinking the mixture to help clean the area in question.  It wasn't bad at all.  At least not like most of the stories I'd heard up to this point.  The procedure is at 4pm so I'm on my own until then.
Food still isn't a priority but it's interesting that at times I'll be like, Hey I should grab something to eat.  Then I remember that no eating is the order of the day, at least until after 5pm.  I do plan on having food tonight as I can't eat again until tomorrow after noonish.

So today just juice and water until later.

So it's later and the procedure was a success.  The doctor said I was good and didn't need to have another of these for ten years.  So two thumbs up, way up.

Ah a yummy hamburger on ciabata bread with bacon and guacamole and tomato.  Added some onion rings and I'm good to go until tomorrow after the surgery for the hernia.

Monday, April 21, 2014

Day 714

Woke up, got out of bed, took a couple of pills.  Waiting for them to kick in.  It's starting.
First day of no food.  Spent the first few hours playing video games and then spent 45min taking out the garbage and recycle.  Swept my deck and now having a glass of white grape juice.  I've only thought about food a few times so far.  I figure if I can keep occupied it probably won't be to bad.
Tomorrow will probably be the hardest but fortunately the test is at 4pm so I'll be able to eat a bit before I have to once again stop eating for the next days trials.

So I spent the day reading and playing video games.  I drank some bubbly water and white grape juice.

I had to drink some Gatorade mixed with some stuff that was supposed to help clean me out for the test.  I didn't have a reaction like some people talked about so we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Day 713

Less than 24hrs to D-day.  Well, actually a bit more than that as I'm just being dramatic.  Tomorrow is the start of the no food for approximately 72hrs.  Just liquids and then only clear liquids.  I get to drink stuff that cleans me out and doesn't interfere with the 'scope.
So today I'm indulging myself just a bit.

No breakfast as I was running around picking up the materials for the next week.

Brunch: A breakfast sandwich with sausage and one with ham.  Made locally on onion rolls.

During the day snack: Almonds.  I roasted these almonds in a skillet and they are quite good.  This is something I discovered as a way to make the almonds more delicious.

Dinner: Three home made fish tacos with bacon, guacamole, and cheese.  Tomato and lettuce were also in there.

Late night indulgence: Large Blizzard.  A confession. It wasn't that good so somewhat of a waste in reality.  I'll keep that in mind next time I'm thinking about cheating with a Blizzard.

So day 714 is coming.........

Day 712

So no actual workout today but I did get some exercise.  My work had a function and we were all running around helping out people for about three hours.  Of course after that we all went out for Mexican.  Still though I wasn't sitting in front of the computer, at least I was moving around.

Breakfast: An old favorite.  Egg/ham and cheese breakfast sandwich.  20oz of cold water.

Lunch: I only ate half of the burrito from the Mexican restaurant.  I took the rest home for later.  I did have a few chips and salsa but nothing crazy.  Also had an adult beverage.

Snack during the day: Almonds

Dinner: Finished off the burrito and had cookies.

Late night snack: Adult beverage and almonds.

At this point less than 48hrs to the start of the crazy week for me.  Tomorrow I'll eat whatever I want.  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are no food days in prep for the colonoscopy and the hernia operation.  So I figure I should go for the gusto.

Sunday, April 20, 2014

Day 711

Starting down the no workouts road today.  Normally tomorrow would be a meet with L day but not this time.  I'll be helping my work fulfill a commitment.  I do expect to get some exercise but it won't be an actual workout.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Tacos from the taco truck restaurant (4).

Dinner: Vietnamese sandwich with onion rings and sweet potato fries.  An adult beverage and almonds.

Day 710

Very different schedule today.  Worked out with L this morning and then went to work for the late shift.  We won't be meeting on Sat as usual and this is the last workout together for a while due to the surgery.  So it was a good workout but also somewhat bittersweet.  I always enjoy getting together with L as she always has good advice.  We've gone over what we'll do in the coming weeks during the recovery and I look forward to the new plans.

Breakfast: This was before the workout so I went for oatmeal and a banana along with the normal 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: This was an after workout snack consisting of a wrap with roast beef, cheese, and guacamole.

Lunch: Salad and a wrap of cheese and guacamole.

Dinner: I wasn't super hungry so just had a protein drink and almonds.

It's going to be strange to not workout for the next few weeks.  Also not meeting with L will be difficult but I'll still be able to stop in and say hi.

Day 709

Still catching up and will continue for the next few entries.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz cold water.

Lunch: I went to lunch with a co-worker and we had sushi.  I did very well and only had five plates.  It was conveyor belt sushi.

Dinner: Protein drink.  Stir fry broccoli and cauliflower.  Almonds for a snack.

So I ran and it felt good.  That's because I was running on a schedule and so it was what I'd planned on.  Lately I've tried to keep it up but wasn't sticking to a routine.  So I let myself down a bit but thinking about the surgery is keeping me from really focusing.  It will be over soon though.  Then I can move forward.

Day 708

Still catching up.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Wrap with roast beef, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and cheese.

Dinner: Small personal size pizza with some extra ham.  Also some almonds.

So I really felt the lack of routine today and just blew off going to the gym.  I'll try to run tomorrow.  I think that will help.

Day 707

Catch up time.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

Lunch: Did the early lunch today.  Went for the Roast beef wrap with guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and tomato.

Dinner: Protein drink and stir fry broccoli and cauliflower.

Almost didn't go to the gym.  I'm not in a routine anymore and that will have to change.  Hopefully once I get past the hernia operation it will improve.  Actually I know it will because I'll have L to help me get back on track!

Day 706

Game day.  'Nuff said.

Breakfast: nothing

After run meal: Mexicali salad from TJ's.  They finally got it back!  Yay!  I had some extra chicken so threw that in to make it even better.

Rest of the day food:  Since it's game day we ate in a continuous manner until later in the evening.  It consisted of Chinese food.  So no fried rice but some noodle mixture and lots of steamed veggies.  Also had other types of Chinese food that will be considered bad but I tried to keep it down.  Succeeded to a point but didn't stay as clean as I'd have liked.  Ah well.

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Day 705

Met up with L today and we worked on back and biceps with a touch of triceps.  More conversation about the coming recovery time and what I'll be doing for it.  I am now writing up questions for the doctor that I want answers to.  I really have to make sure I'm doing nothing bad and then once the recovery is over what I should avoid if anything.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and a banana along with 20oz of cold water.

After workout meal: Hamburger with an egg, bacon, guacamole, tomato, cheese, and pastrami.  Side of cauliflower.

Snack: Roasted almonds

Dinner: Mexican sandwich called a Torta.  It's basically a Mexican sub sandwich.

Then I went off the rails and for a late snack I had a quesadilla.  Not sure what happened but the hunger just went on a rampage and I succumbed to it's call.  Ah well as we know it's not something I want to do all the time but I also know that occasionally it's going to happen.  Get back on the horse and ride it out is all I can do.

Day 704

So it's the official day off.  I keep doing this because I really think a scheduled day off is way better than a random day off.  I know that I'm not going to feel any pressure to work out and that's just fine.  After all it's only one day.

Breakfast: Two packages of oatmeal and a banana, plus a slice of toast with peanut butter.  20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Roast beef/pastrami wrap with cheese, tomato, lettuce, roasted pepper, and guacamole.

Dinner: Pot sticker soup with chicken added.  Also a banana with peanut butter.  An adult beverage.

Tomorrow will be the second to last of my meetings with L before the surgery.  I expect we'll work on upper body.  I look forward to what she has planned.  I'm really getting a lot of ideas for working out that I expect to use after the recovery is over.

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Day 703

I feel good the day after running more than I have in a while.  I expected to feel fine but I'm still leery of the whole running thing.
So after work it was back to the gym and lifting some weights.  Working the upper body is always a good idea and of course I figure I'm going to one day get rid of the man-boobs.  Heh.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Roast beef/pastrami wrap with guacamole, lettuce, cheese, roasted peppers, and tomato.  Also a single bag serving of chips.

Dinner: I think I was bit more hungry than normal as the stir fry broccoli and cauliflower plus the protein drink didn't seem to satisfy.  So threw in the last of the banana bread.

So had my first visit with the new doctor who will be overseeing my life now.  He pretty much gave me a not quite rosy clean bill of health.  I guess I do have some high blood pressure to deal with but I'm hoping the continued workouts will help that.  He seemed to be a straight shooter and didn't try to force anything on me.  As a matter of fact he talked me out of a notion I'd had for a while, and he didn't have to do that.  It looks like we'll be taking a look at possible sleep apnea but it's going to be a more intelligent approach.  Which appeals to me.  So I'm quite happy with this doctor and his bed side manner.  At this point we haven't discussed any of my working out but that's coming as I recover from the hernia surgery.

Monday, April 14, 2014

Day 702

My new running day, at least for now.  I am trying a suggestion by L and running for time not distance.  So today I ran for a total of 26 minutes.  That's 5 min more than I have been running.  So that will be the new goal to run for at least 26min.  Again it didn't suck to badly so I'm continuing on the running program.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

Lunch: Roast beef and pastrami wrap with roasted peppers, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and tomato.  Also a single serving bag of chips and two small slices of banana bread.

Dinner: Hamburger on whole wheat bread with a slice of bacon and an egg with peanut butter.  Slice of banana bread.

Day 701

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Roast beef and pastrami wrap with cheese, guacamole, tomato, lettuce, and roasted peppers.  Also a single serving bag of chips.

2nd snack: Banana and peanut butter on the side

Dinner: Stir fry broccoli and a protein drink.

So I skipped the gym yesterday and now I feel guilty, not a lot but some.  I did upper body today and tried to make it count.  I think I'm starting to think more about the coming weeks of recovery rather than staying in the moment and doing the work.  At least today.

Thursday, April 10, 2014

Day 700 or Can you believe a fat man can get skinny?

So this is a milestone, at least in my world.  It seems much longer than the numbers make it seem.  I've learned a lot over these 700 days and all of worthwhile.  Lorinda has helped me immensely and I really am glad to have met her.

Breakfast: Frittata.  Eggs, mixed veggie, mini peppers, and sausage.  This meal with variations to the veggie has been my breakfast now for about a year or so.  I expect to be eating this until I get tired of it and frankly I think that will be awhile.  Of course the 20oz of water will continue until I can't get any water.

Lunch: Today I had to temporarily move my lunch time.  I still had a great lunch though.  Roast beef and Pastrami wrap with cheese, guacamole, lettuce, and roasted peppers.  I also had a single serving bag of chips.  Hey and a cookie.

Dinner: Stir fry broccoli and cauliflower.  Two of my all time fave veggies.  Also a protein drink.  I could eat broccoli and cauliflower for ever and I probably will.

If I look back I see some pretty amazing stuff that I've done.  I started running and kept it up.  I actually entered a real race and finished.  Nothing spectacular but still I did it.  Those are really accomplishments I never thought I'd have.
Looking forward to the next 700 as I enter this next stretch.  I've got the hernia surgery coming and the fun invasion of a colonoscopy.  The recovery for the hernia will be interesting and I plan on using it as a springboard for training better.
So far I haven't even touched the bike and I miss that but once the weather changes I plan on getting back in the saddle.  Part of the plan will be more biking and running and less time in the gym.  That means though the time spent in the gym will need to be more focused.  At least that's the plan.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Day 699

So ran in the morning and still ran 21min.  I was hoping the route I took today would add some time but it wasn't any longer.  So next run I'll head down a path I haven't ran before looking for the 30min mark.

No breakfast.

After the run: Roast beef/bacon sandwich on healthy bread with veggies and a single serving of chips.

Game day meal: This goes on all day.  Tacos and burritos.  Also nachos.  Had a piece of cake and an adult beverage.  Not at the same time, icky.

So the run felt good again.  I am really beginning to think I can do this running thing as long as I don't go crazy.  I'm happy with the 5K distance and will continue with that goal for the future.  I'd like to get faster but I'm not going to stress it if I stay slow for now.

Day 698

Met up with L today and we worked the back specifically.  I guess I'm wanting to focus on specific areas so that I'm able to mix and match when I feel the need.  Just trying to come up with different moves for workouts.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and a banana.

After workout: Protein drink.

Early dinner: Stir fry broccoli, cauliflower, bacon, and chicken.

Late night snack: Almonds and an adult beverage.

So tomorrow is D&D game day and tacos are on the menu.  so I expect to be eating lots of meat, cheese, and tortillas.  Probably chips with cheese (nachos) also.  I'll run tomorrow and try to extend the actual time I run instead of distance.

Monday, April 7, 2014

Day 697

So we're coming up on a milestone for this record.  I've been writing this blog for almost 700 days.  Getting close to two years worth but it seems like way more than that.

Breakfast: Frittata with 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt.

Lunch: Chicken fajita with kale/broccoli/cabbage and guacamole

2nd snack: Banana

1st dinner: Hot dog

2nd Dinner: Two slices of thin crust pizza and an adult beverage.

So two dinners as I went straight to the movies after work.  I just went for a hot dog and then on the way home a few hours later I had a real meal.  Pizza.  Only two slices though.

Tomorrow I meet with L again.  I'm going to suggest we focus on the back for this session.

Day 696

So just rode the upright bike and walked on the treadmill today.  Felt the need to back off the weights for today.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Ground turkey burrito with kale/broccoli/cabbage mix and guacamole.

Dinner: Protein drink and five veggie chix strips in a wrap with peanut butter.

Rather weird dinner but felt like something different but still somewhat healthy.  Was not going to eat pizza.

So hit the gym for 45min of cardio and was happy with the breakout of sweat.

Day 695

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st Snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Ground turkey with peppers in a wrap with guacamole and veggies mixture.  Also Skittles.

Dinner: Two chicken drumsticks and thighs with sautéed veggies.

So lifted weights at the gym.  It was an upper body workout L showed me.  Will probably just do cardio tomorrow as I'm feeling the need to ease up on the upper body focus for a bit.  Saturday we'll get back to it.

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Day 694

Ran after work today.  I think I've gotten this distance down so it's time to add so time to the run.  21min just seems too short and not challenging enough.  Of course in a couple of weeks I'll be happy to be able to run for 21 minutes but until then I can go bigger.

Breakfast: Frittata and 20oz of cold water.

1st snack: Back to the regular lunch schedule so I get a 1st break before lunch.  Greek yogurt.

Lunch: Ground turkey and peppers burrito.  Kale/broccoli/cabbage with guacamole and salsa.  Stepped a little off the path and had four Ritz cracker with peanut butter also.

Dinner: Protein drink.  Stir fry veggies and pistachios.

So the run was good.  I'm glad I ran instead of going to the gym.  I was feeling the upper body workouts that I did earlier in the week, so running was a nice change.

Day 693

Breakfast:  Frittata with stir fry veggies and sausage with salsa.  20oz of cold water.

Lunch: Ground turkey with peppers in a wrap with guacamole, kale/broccoli/cabbage, and salsa.

Afternoon snack: Greek yogurt

Dinner: Kale veggie stir fry and a protein drink.

Did another upper body workout and maybe I should have done something else.  My arms are feeling it.

Tomorrow I'll run instead.

Day 692

Went to the gym in the morning.  Did another of L's workouts that are great for the current condition of my body.  Soon I'll only be doing really weak workouts if at all.  Of course that won't last.  As soon as the doc tells me I'll be back at it and look out.  I expect to come back and start the work on my weakest areas and then progress from there.  The running is fast becoming my go to which I never thought I'd say.  {this is me shaking my head in disbelief}

Only drank my 20oz of cold water before going to the gym.

After the workout meal: Chicken/bacon sandwich and an ice tea drink.  I've discovered a new temptation and unfortunately I gave in to it today.  It's called Cowboy Bark.  It's basically a nut/cookie/pretzel mix covered in chocolate.  It's delicious and deadly.  I ended up eating almost an entire bag today.  Didn't eat the entire bag but.......

Dinner: Two chicken drumstick/thigh combo and a small ground turkey burrito.  The burrito was a sample of this weeks lunches.

So a good workout but blew it rather badly with the Cowboy Bark.  Hmmm a typical day if you ask me.

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Day 691

Ran 5K today.  I didn't suck to badly.

Breakfast: Oatmeal with a banana.  20oz of cold water.

After the run: Protein drink.

Lunch: Vietnamese Sandwich with broccoli/cauliflower salad.  Ice tea drink.

Dinner: Pot sticker soup with sausage, bacon, broccoli, and peas.

Late snack: Pistachios

So the run went well.  I turned in a time of 51min which was 10min off the Zombie run time.  I think though that I actually ran more than 5K as I can't believe I was that much slower.  At the same time I will say that on the back side it was raining a lot and the wind was against me.  Still I didn't feel actually slower, so.  I plan on doing it again before the surgery just to see if I can run any faster.

Day 690

It's the day off from the gym.  My weekend workout plans have been decided.  I'm planning on running 5K tomorrow rain or shine.  I expect it to be rain.  The distance is one that I think is a good amount for me to get used to running more often.  I will basically run the same course that I ran for the Zombie 5K I did back in Feb.  I'm actually looking forward to it slightly more than a root canal.  ;)

Breakfast: Frittata with cottage cheese and salsa.  20oz of cold water.

Lunch: Chicken fajita with a very small portion of Thai food.  Why?  Because it was there.  Ya that's a silly reason but one I catch myself justifying quite often.  One of those psych quirks I have.

Afternoon snack: Banana

Dinner: Sausage sandwich and sweet potato fries.  An adult beverage.

Day 689

My week is all confused.  I met with L tonight after work and she threw another good workout my way.  We keep trying to stay focused on not stressing the hernia and I think it makes for some great workouts.  Yes I'll have to get back to that soon but not for a while.
The countdown is nearing as March comes to an end and April just around the corner.  It's now coming up on the four weeks until crazy time.  Not sure I'm ready but not much I can do about it.

Breakfast: Frittata with cottage cheese and salsa.  20oz of cold water.

Lunch: Of course I had to have Thai food since there was quite a lot left from the night before.  So some veggie and noodle stir fry along with a small portion of rice.

Afternoon snack: Greek yogurt

Dinner: Protein drink.  Stir fry cauliflower and slice of bread with peanut butter.

The workout was one that I'll combine with others to make a giant sweat session.  Of course that's after the hernia recovery is over.  So we're looking at getting back to normal sometime in June, I think.  It all depends on how I do and what the doctor says.  I plan on following those orders to the letter.
